Red Riding Hood (2011)

A lot of close-ups on Amanda Seyfried's way too big eyes as she gazes unconvincingly longingly at some very not cute Edward/Jacob knock-offs.

Bewildering story, inane details (Large metal elephant that you can torture someone in by putting a fire under it??? How did anyone ever think this was a good idea?!), infantile delivery and editing choices. PS. There's a choreographed dance scene.

PPS. This movie sucked.

Worth a laugh, maybe, as a rental. Do not pay to see it in a theater. They couldn't even get the shots of the winter landscape scenery right. Ouch.

  1. I've been seeing some ads for this move around Toronto, and it sounds like the ads do the movie justice -- they're pretty damn awful lookin'.

  2. I thought it looked vaguely interesting when I saw the teaser trailer for it a while back.

Pretty bad though, but not bad enough to be very enjoyable!

  3. After reading the synopsis of Red Riding Hood, I thought that this movie had the potential to actually be worthwhile. Worthwhile... yes. But to what degree? Blaaarrrghhahhfhhfhafalhsa

I thought this movie wasn't going to be so Twilightish which was probably misleading upon seeing Leonardo Dicaprio's (my twin brother) name on the list of producers for this fine piece of work. With misleading previews and synopsises, this movie was in fact molding twilight and a reputable Grimm's fairytale into one. However, the only, but only slightly accurate reference to the fairytale was the fact that they cut up the wolf and filled his insides with stone.

I'm there with you for watching this movie for a laugh. But only once in a lifetime!

You know how some people get breast reduction surgery? Amanda Seyfreid needs the eye reduction version or should give all the proceeds she made from this movie to help research and develop the procedure. har har har!

  4. I thought this movie was amazing, personally. The soundtrack is what did it for me, but I also loved the storyline... And no, I'm not really a fan of Twilight. This movie was WAY better than Twilight.
